About Us

Duleek Community Childcare has been providing preschool to the children of Duleek and surrounding areas for over 30 years. The setting hosts an extensive outdoor area where the learning opportunities are endless. The service provides a play based curriculum encompassing aspects of the High scope method and Aistear (the National Curriculum framework).

It strives each day to support and provide the opportunity for each child to grow and learn at their own pace, we achieve this by recognising each child’s individuality.

The children are at the heart of our service and in collaboration with their families provide an environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all. Activities are planned based on the children’s current interest and we recognise how important the children’s input in this process is. Outdoor play, no matter what the weather conditions, is an important element of the children’s routine. Children spend a minimum of one hour in the garden during the winter months and more in the finer weather. Risky play is evident each day in the garden. Messy play is another element of our curriculum that we embrace much to the enjoyment of the children.

We are currently operating from our temporary location at Duleek Parish Centre, Church Lane, Duleek. However, we are delighted to announce that Construction work has commenced on our new Preschool on the Navan Road in Duleek. We look forward to welcoming our Preschool Classes of 2021-2022 to our new build.

My name is Sinead Purdy and I have been working in the Early Years Sector for over 25 years. I joined Liag na N’og Preschool as the Manager in October 2019, prior to that I was working as the Assistant Manager in Le Cheile, another service within the Crann Support Group organization. I have held Assistant Manager positions in two full day care settings in Dublin.
