Jay Conaty

Hello my name is Jay Conaty and I am the Manager of Simonstown Childcare Facility CLG for the last five years. Simonstown is a Community Childcare Facility and part of the Crann Support Group and I have worked here for 11 years. I started my journey in Daoine Oga on work experience as part of completing my level 5 in Childcare. I got a full time position when I qualified and joined the team in the Simonstown facility. When my Level 6 was completed I was promoted to a leader’s position in the Creche. I was Leader of the Preschool room and a position came up for maternity cover for Assistant Manager in our Trim Facility, I applied for the position and was delighted to be accepted for the role and got a lot of experience in Management and what it entailed. Over the course of the last 11 years I have worked in 3 of our facilities assisting the Manager.

I was promoted to Assistant Manager in Simonstown in 2014 and stepped in to cover the Manager when she went on maternity leave and I am still in that position today. The team in Simonstown are very experienced and I enjoy working with them. I love working in childcare as it is so fulfilling and rewarding.
