About Us

Le Chèile is the Irish word for together. Le Cheile is one of the members of Crann Support Group which supports families, community and voluntary organizations. Le Chèile is located in the grounds of the Simonstown GAA Centre which boats great range of outdoor facilities (Astro turf, two playing fields and indoor sport hall) are provided for children in our service. Children can benefit a lot from outdoor play and connect with nature environment on daily basis.
The staff of Le Cheile have reached a high level of professional qualifications and continue to participate in training to update and extend their knowledge in childcare sector. All staff in Le Cheile have minimum of Level 5 in Early Childhood Care and Education, where number of staff is qualified in Level 6 in Early Childhood Care and Education, two members of staff holds Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care and one member of the staff holds Masters in Childcare Hetac Level 9.
Simonstown Childcare Facility CLG

Le Cheile – Simonstown Childcare Facility provides care for babies, toddlers, pre-school age children and afterschool service for primary school aged children. Le Cheile cares approximately for 90 children daily where teaching with child-centred philosophy is provided. We believe that every child is unique and learn differently where warm, nurturing and safe environment for children and families are provided.
All staff in Le Cheile strive to teach children:

  • to respect themselves, others and their environment
  • to provide for all areas of a child’s development
  • to develop creativity and critical thinking skills in each child
  • to provide for child’s emotional and social development
  • to provide resources for parents
  • to involve our community in child’s learning
  • to act as a support system for staff and families

Le Cheile – Simonstown Childcare facility have been awarded Level 4 in the Siolta Quality Assurance Programme which is the highest level of achievement as well as we took part in Smart Start.

We operate from the National Curriculum Framework Aistear and Siolta for all children aged birth to six years old. Le Cheile is play-based centre where learning through the play is highlighted. We believe that children learn the best through the play. We also believe that communication and working with parents is very important and beneficial for all children. In Le Cheile we are communicating with parents through the App calls Child Path, where children’ s daily learning and developmental progress is stored and shared with parents on daily basis.
All the staff in Le Cheile are Garda vetted, experienced, skilled, friendly whose work is carried out on professional basis every day.
